Tennessee “pre-launch” for our book

Our spring break was VERY late this year. Needless to say we were ready for a change of scenery, so we headed south the Thursday before Easter and were eager to get to Nashville.

We had a few “pre-order” book launch events scheduled for the week after Easter that we were really looking forward to…but first we were so grateful to spend Easter with Travis’ family. It was the first time we had been able to spend Easter there since Jackson and Reagan were born. The week ended up being more special than we could have ever imagined. Enjoy a few pics below:

Bennett started off the week riding on a 4-wheeler with his daddy and he loved every minute.

Celebrating the resurrection of Jesus- the foundation of our faith. Thank you Lord for Easter Sunday!

Easter Sunday 2022
Grana, Popper and 7 of their 9 grandchildren- missing Palmer & Lainey!
Bennett met up with Mr. Matt, his very special preschool teacher from when he was two years old at High Hopes in Franklin, Tennessee.
Visiting with dear friends Dixie, Whitney, and Molly who came out to see us at the gorgeous new High Hopes location.
Bennett’s former therapists (Speech, PT&OT) came by to say hello and it was wonderful to catch up with these super special women!
Reagan and Jackson found their way to a shady spot under the book table at High Hopes.
We have the two best moms (Grana & Nini) in the UNIVERSE! They are huge sources of support along our journey.
It was an honor to do a Q&A session at Acklen Street church, where Trav’s life-long friend ,JP, is the minister. A very special night of connection & sharing.
Travis’ sister, Meredith planned an incredible ladies night for our book centered around my love for Mexican food. A night I will never forget.
Can we take a moment for these amazing cactus cupcakes that Meredith’s friend, Jess, made? They were works of art. Thank you Mere & Jess!
Visiting Nashville in the spring was so peaceful and restorative. It was beautiful to see vibrant color springing to life.

In our book, we talk about the spring of 2010 in Tennessee that was an extremely difficult time in our family journey. Fast forward twelve years later, it was absolutely life-giving being there again to reconnect with old friends and re-visit the important people and places along our path. We even enjoyed a special dinner at Sarah & Justin Waters’ home filled with couples who literally prayed us through, fed us, and helped carry us following Bennett’s birth and NICU stay.

This entire spring break visit was honey to our souls…and the support for our book is truly humbling.

The view from the road towards this property brings instant peace to us all.
Bennett returned to school after spring break and had one of his very BEST days. We are so very grateful for this boy, his school, and his LIFE.

I once thought I would spend my life as a working mom and wife, hustling in corporate America while volunteering at both my church and the PTA. Life's numerous curveballs, however, have prompted an evolution: I know consider myself recovering type-A planner. I am married to my college sweetheart, Travis, and we have three amazing children. Our faith in Jesus is what matters to us the most. Hands down. When my high school friends voted me "Most Likely to Drive a Minivan," I scoffed and declared that would never happen. Ironically we now own two mini-vans. My favorite one to drive has a ramp for my oldest son Bennett, a quadriplegic. I consider it my greatest honor to chauffeur my three kids around and do life with Travis, my partner in this journey we call life. Our life is not always easy, but it is always beautiful.

  1. Kelly, so happy that you all had such a good experience in Nashville! Wish we could have made one of your events, but it was a wedding weekend for our family. Can’t wait to read the book – I just know it is going to be a fabulous success!! God bless you and your family.
